Our junior tennis ranking system, rooted in the American Development Model, ensures a consistent and fair competition framework across all 17 USTA Sections.

The USTA National Standings List is your gateway to seeing how you stack up against the best in the nation! This prestigious ranking places section players in a nationwide leaderboard, allowing you to measure your skills against top players within your age division. Rankings vs Standings
Player standings are determined by ranking points earned over the past 12 months, with weekly updates reflecting changes based on activity and performance. Year-End Rankings are calculated from points earned in a single division from January through December, and published annually.
Points are awarded for match wins in tournaments, with Level 1-5 events rewarding points for every win and Level 6-7 events capping points after four wins. While byes don’t count as wins, defaults, withdrawals, and walkovers do. Rankings are based on the top six singles and doubles results from Level 1-7 tournaments.
World Tennis Number
For players in USTA and ITF events, the ITF World Tennis Number (WTN) introduces a global standard for everyone—no matter your age, gender, or skill level.
To get started, just start playing! Your match results will generate your initial rating, and you'll receive separate WTN rankings for singles and doubles. With the ITF World Tennis Number, you'll be able to track your progress and enhance your game. WTN helps with seeding, selection, and flighting in USTA and ITF tournaments, ensuring you're always matched at the right level.
